Located on the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand, Pattaya is a very popular tourist destination and if you have already made a booking, here are a few must-see attractions that you should add to your itinerary.
- Sanctuary of Truth – A truly incredible structure made 100% from timber, the Sanctuary of Truth is an unfinished museum that you should add to your busy program. Construction began in 1981 and it is scheduled to be finished in 2025, although many locals believe it will never be finished. Many Buddhist and Hindu carvings adorn the interior and exterior, displaying fine workmanship by local craftsmen and you can join one of the English-speaking guided tours. If you are staying in a Pattaya luxury hotel, you are not far from the Sanctuary of Truth, which opens at 8am and closes at 6pm.
- Ramayana Water Park – Recognised as one of the top water parks in Asia, Ramayana Water Park is home to 21 water slides that you probably have never seen let alone experienced. Thrill seekers will love this venue; you can sit on a raft and enjoy the 600 metres of the Lazy River ride. This is a great place to spend the day if you have children; there are restaurants and vendors ready to prepare delicious meals.
- Nong Nooch Garden – Garden lovers are in for a treat with Nong Nooch Gardens, which is one of the largest botanical gardens in Southeast Asia. The 500-acre site hosts the French Garden, which is a scaled down version of Versailles Palace Gardens and it took 2 years to complete. Every taxi driver knows this venue, so you won’t have any trouble locating this and other major venues in Pattaya.
- Tiger Zoo at Sriracha – A unique animal sanctuary where the tigers are domesticated; they are well fed and cared for and you can get as close as your dare. They pride themselves on their safety record, raised around humans since birth, these majestic creatures are much like house cats, only larger. If you don’t think you could handle being next to one of the big cats, there are cat-free zones and lots of local vendors; a great outing for the family and take a few tiger selfies! If beaches are your thing, here are a few world-class destinations for 2025.
- Pattaya Underwater World – The only aquarium in Pattaya City, a wide range of marine species including sharks, stingrays and, of course, bottle-nose dolphins. While there are great snorkelling hotspots, you don’t get a real close up to appreciate the wonders of nature, which is why aquariums are great. The reptile house is worth a visit and there is a study corner for those who wish to brush up on their marine education.
Pattaya is one of the top destinations for tourists in 2025 and we hope this article helps you get the most out of your Thai holiday.
